How to "Write" on your quilts

Have you ever wanted to personalize a quilted piece with a message in your own handwriting or using your favorite font? You can! with Golden Threads paper.

Golden Threads Quilting paper is a tool that ensures success for seasoned quilters as well as beginners. It’s faster and safer than marking your quilts and you’re able to make up to 12 “templates” at a time.
Simply use a pencil to mark, trace or draw your desired message or quilt design. You are able to erase and redraw your work several times.
Pin the paper in position and free motion quilt over the lines you’ve drawn. When finished, tear gently, using tweezers to remove any small pieces of paper.
To make multiple templates at once, stack the desired number of sheets and staple them securely so as not to shift during sewing. The top paper should depict your message or design.
Remove the thread from your needle and sew through all layers at once.
Golden Threads paper saves time, frustration and the need to remove marks from your piece. It allows you to enjoy the process.

I used Microsoft Word to choose a font then printed in the size I wanted.

Then position the paper over your print out and trace it. Position and pin the paper over your piece.

Carefully remove the paper when you’ve finished sewing. Keep a pair of tweezers handy to remove the smallest stubborn pieces.
Personalizing your quilts with a handwritten message makes them even more special.
Give it a try!
