"Inspired by a song"
Size: 32” x 32” OR 32” x 42” (longer dimension may be width or height).
Use the title or lyrics of a favorite song to inspire your challenge quilt. Any technique may be used. Have you learned a new technique or still enjoy an old favorite? One technique or several in the same piece?
This is a great opportunity to be incredibly creative in the style of your choice. Think of your favorite vocalist or group. Maybe you are inspired by a special song that you shared with a loved one, a grandchild, or one from your own childhood or history. What did you dance to when you were wearing your poodle skirt? You might remember a tune from the Juke Box or a music box.
As we’re able to choose any technique, I’ve chosen to needle felt my piece.
Thus far, I’ve drawn my image, enlarged it with an overhead projector, transferred the pattern to a sheet of paper measuring 32″ x 42″ and a sheet of plastic for placement. Finally, today I labeled each piece with a pattern letter and number designating it’s placement.
Any guesses on the song title or subject?
Tomorrow I plan to peruse my wool stash for textures and colors in preparation for and …..
