Only our second meeting of the year and our numbers are increasing! As of today we are boasting 146 members, 12 of which are new since last month. Continue to spread the word, the CT Piecemakers have a LOT going on!
A “disappearing 4-patch” quilt by our treasurer, Anne Christian. She completed this quilt after taking a CPQG workshop in September.
Shelley Bayer displayed a recently completed tee-shirt quilt and shared her “secrets” for success.
Lin Elmo shared one of numerous quilts Quilting Arts Magazine has chosen to display in their publication. It’s even more breathe-taking in person!
Karen Whitney used crumb quilting to create blocks and rows of harmonious blues. She created this quilt before we even began our BOM! She’s a trendsetter!
Lois Caron dug deep into her stash to create this stunning quilt from scraps. Zoom in to see all of the exquisite details!
As I mentioned, there’s a lot going on at the CPQG meetings! The second half of our meeting consisted of a lecture by Tina Craig focused on “English Paper Piecing vs Foundation Paper Piecing. Following 15 different types of examples, Foundation Paper Piecing was the winner! … as are the members participating in Tina’s workshop this afternoon.
Our next meeting is on Monday, Nov 14th at 9:30. We’ll be celebrating Quilts of Valor for our Veterans by working on quilt block and pillowcase kits during the afternoon. Wednesday, Nov 16th we’ll be working together during the day to sew and assemble QOV quilts to thank our Veterans with a tangible gift. It’s always a good day when we gather for a common purpose and cause close to our hearts.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings for a nominal fee of $10. If you choose to join during your visit, the $10 is applied towards the $40 yrly membership fee. What are you waiting for?
