Evening in Autumn
This piece is in response to a challenge given by the CT Piecemakers Quilt Guild for September 2022. The theme was “Seasons”. Autumn always inspires stoking the fire pit and making s’mores with my family. My husband and I enjoy pulling our chairs next to the fire with something warm to drink. The stars overhead and a warm blanket for especially chilly nights make the evening complete.
I began with a bit of Ombre fabric by Moda, raw edge appliqued the pieces in the foreground and then free motion quilted the entire piece. I couldn’t help adding a bit of embellishment in the fire and the sky. What’s in the cups? I’ll never tell…
